We love this ‘diy’ cookie wedding favour recipe. Who can beat hand made cookies? These are bound to go down a treat and today, we’re going to show you how to make them.
Ingredients:(Makes approximately 30 cookies)
150g salted butter (softened)
100g brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 large egg
225g plain flour
1/2 tsp bicarbonate soda
1/4 tsp salt
200g plain chocolate chip or chunks
Preheat the oven to 190C or 170C for fan assisted ovens.
Place 150g butter into a bowl and grease two baking trays using any left over butter or line tray with baking paper
Add the sugar to the butter and beat until fluffy. Beat in the vanilla essence and the egg.
Sieve the flour, salt and bicarbonate soda over the mixture and mix together. Gradually add in the chocolate chips.
Use a tablespoon to spoon small mounds of the mixture onto the baking trays. Make sure you leave spaces between the mounds so you don’t end up with one giant cookie!
Bake in the oven for 8 – 10 minutes or until golden brown. You want it to remain slighty soft in the middle.
After a couple of minutes, transfer the cookies from the tray to a cooling rack until cool.
Tie them up with string ready to hand out as favours.
If you wanted to, you could place these cookie favours into individual favour boxes or to save money, place some kitchen paper in a wicker basket and place them inside for guests to help themselves.
So there you have it, delicious homemade wedding favours in less than 15 minutes!!
